Sam's first music recital performance happened on June 22, 2025! He spelled to choose every piece of his recital outfit, including the red spelling sock. It was also a special day because it was my first time performing music on stage with my son. The lead singer was my jazz vocal teacher Lisa from 25 years ago who now works with Sam’s music therapy teacher Hannah. Music therapy has helped him with spelling but it’s also so fun! Sam has a gift for jazz improv. He played piano on the Garage Band app on the iPad, set to the same key as the piano accompaniment.
